Cape Town Pro Draws a Line: Zero Tolerance for Dropping In

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cape Town Pro Emphasises Respect and Integrity in Competitive Bodyboarding

Cape Town, South Africa — The Cape Town Pro Bodyboarding Event has reiterated its commitment to fostering a respectful, fair and safe environment for all athletes.

Event Owner Bianca Burt shared the following message with the community:

“Dropping in during competitions goes against the spirit of the sport. It disrespects fellow wave riders, and we won’t stand behind it.”

To uphold this standard, the Cape Town Pro confirms that any rider caught dropping in on another competitor during a surfing or bodyboarding contest will not be eligible to participate in our annual event.

This guideline supports the event’s core values:
• Supporting fair, clean heats
• Building respect between riders
• Protecting the traditions that make bodyboarding unique

The Cape Town Pro remains dedicated to showcasing not only high-performance wave riding, but also the character, respect and sportsmanship that define our community.
