The South African Bodyboarding Association (SABA) and Surfing South Africa (SSA) are proud to announce their official support and sanctioning of the highly anticipated 2025 Cape Town Pro. With this recognition, the Cape Town Pro is now a sanctioned event within both the SABA National Series and the broader South African surfing and bodyboarding circuit.
Following discussions between Saul Basckin (SABA) and event organiser, Bianca Le Roux, this partnership underscores a shared commitment to growing bodyboarding in South Africa and ensuring that the sport continues to thrive at an internationally competitive level.


What This Means for Riders
All SABA-affiliated competitors entering the Cape Town Pro and registered in the SABA Circuit will be required to pay a mandatory R250 rider fee, which will be allocated directly to SABA. This fee contributes to the development and sustainability of bodyboarding in South Africa, ensuring continued growth and professional opportunities for athletes.
SABA & SSA’s Commitments to the Cape Town Pro
As part of their sanctioning, SABA and SSA have pledged the following:
✅ National Series Inclusion: The Cape Town Pro will officially be part of the SABA National Series, allowing riders to earn valuable ranking points.
✅ Branding & Affiliation: The event will have full rights to SABA and SSA branding, reinforcing its status as a premier competition.
